Official Inauguration of Breast Care Clinic at Saidu Group of Teaching Hospitals, Swat

On October 23, 2025, the Breast Care Clinic was officially inaugurated at the Surgical OPD of Saidu Group of Teaching Hospitals in Swat. The ceremony was led by Chief Executive Professor Dr. Israr-ul-Haq and Medical Superintendent Dr. Jamil Ahmad, who opened the OPD and congratulated the Surgery Department for establishing the province's first-ever Breast Care Clinic.

During the event, Professor Dr. Anwar-ul-Haq, Head of the Surgery Department, expressed gratitude to all attendees and shed light on the clinic's objectives and significance. He emphasized that this clinic marks a crucial and historic step toward the early diagnosis, treatment, and awareness of breast cancer among women.

The clinic will feature expert and experienced female doctors who will examine patients and provide guidance. Additionally, women will be trained in self-examination techniques (Breast Self-Examination) to enable early detection and timely treatment. The clinic will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with informative lectures offered to women arriving at 11:00 AM.

Professor Anwar-ul-Haq extended thanks to the provincial government, Health Department, Chief Executive, Medical Superintendent, and Radiology Department for providing a mammography machine to the hospital. This equipment will play a vital role in the early detection of breast cancer among women.

Furthermore, tenders for the hospital's CT scan and MRI facilities have been completed, and these services are expected to be available to the public soon, inshallah. This development enhances the hospital's capacity to serve the community effectively.
