Swat Councillor Shah Wazir Khan Severely Injured in Daddahra Blast; Cause Unknown as Probe Begins

A prominent local councillor and social figure, Shah Wazir Khan, was critically injured in an explosion involving unidentified explosive material in the Daddahra area of Kabal tehsil on Friday, leaving the community gripped by fear and unanswered questions.The 60-year-old Khan, a resident of Daddahra known among locals as a "humble human being," suffered severe injuries around 12:30 pm when the blast occurred . Rescue 1122 Swat spokesperson reported that, upon receiving the alert, District Emergency Officer Rafee Ullah Marwat directed a medical team with an ambulance to the scene. The team arrived promptly, provided initial first aid at the site, and transported the victim via a Ambulance to Civil Hospital Kabal for treatment.Later in the afternoon, due to his deteriorating condition, Khan was transferred by ambulance to Saidu Teaching Hospital in Saidu Sharif. Hospital officials described his state as "heavily injured" and critical, with him now under intensive care for multiple injuries Family members have not commented publicly. Station House Officer Hayat Khan of PS Kabal confirmed that police personnel were immediately dispatched to the site upon notification. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered under relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code related to grievous hurt and explosives, pending further investigation. No arrests have been made, and the cause of the blast remains unknown—whether it stems from a terror incident or remnants of an improvised explosive device (IED) left over from past conflicts in the region.Residents in Daddahra expressed shock and concern, with many describing Khan as a dedicated community servant.
